Back in the late ’90s and early
’00s, Missy Elliott and Timbaland got together to make some
gloriously weird and revolutionary pop music, now the dynamic duo are back and
ready to set radio’s worldwide on fire with the dual-singles “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat.” Both singles are set to appear on Missy’s upcoming
album, tentatively titled Block Party,
due later this year.
Timbaland described the meaning
behind “9th Inning as “The music game is in a bad state, so we’re in the 9th
Inning like World War 2 and we have to come in and try to salvage what’s left
of it.” The second single “Triple Threat,” the more club friendly song,
features Missy boasting about her triple threat talents of rapping, singing,
and dancing. Enjoy the songs and share your thoughts about them.
