Cole Phoenix Releases Second Single, "Cougar"

New York, NY -  The pop star from Down Under has a few more reasons to soar today as she releases her second single "Cougar," from her self-titled album Cole Phoenix, which also hits stores today, worldwide.

Singer, songwriter and actress, Cole Phoenix,
serves up her second single as an appetizer for her album, and also to spread a positive message, as is often the norm with her music and lyrics. "Cougar" boasts a feel good message set to rocking electric guitars and pounding bass, and celebrates the notion that love knows no discrimination.

"I wrote 'Cougar' to pump up female confidence and break demeaning stereotypes," reveals Phoenix. "There is so much negativity surrounding aging and mature women, who are often marginalized in the media - or made to feel less sexy, less confident - when really it should be the opposite!"

"'Cougar' is to encourage all women to put on their heels and hit it - that sexy is not an age, it's an attitude. Also, the song subverts the idea that a woman with a younger man is a predatory thing; it's no different to a man with a younger woman. This song is for men and women equally and champions equality."

There will be another version of "Cougar" coming shortly for fans, featuring New York-based Jamaican born rap artist, Trev EyeZ. As soon as he heard "Cougar," he was inspired to collaborate.

The electrifying track was produced by Canada-based Jeff Dawson, with lyrics and melody by Phoenix herself. "Cougar" offers a perfect taste of Phoenix's eclectic debut album, which boasts a dynamic range, from jazz numbers to pop rock tracks, and is testimony to the unbridled talents and versatility of this rising international star.
